The Director of the Holy See Press Office, Greg Burke, released a statement in Spanish on Friday regarding 杏MAP导航 Francis鈥 meetings with victims of priest sexual abuse in Chile.
Greg Burke says that Friday afternoon 杏MAP导航 Francis began his 鈥減ersonal meetings with the victims of abuse committed in Chile鈥.
By the 鈥渆xpress desire of the 杏MAP导航鈥, there will be no official communication regarding these meetings.
The 杏MAP导航鈥檚 priority is 鈥渢o listen to the victims, ask them pardon and to respect the confidentiality鈥 of these meetings.
Greg Burke characterizes the climate the 杏MAP导航 is creating as one of 鈥渢rust and of reparation for suffering鈥. He then repeats what was communicated in Wednesday鈥檚 statement that 杏MAP导航 Francis will allow each of those invited to take 鈥渁s much time necessary鈥. Therefore, there are no 鈥渇ixed appointments鈥 or 鈥減re-established topics鈥 to cover.
