The Vatican releases a statement saying that 杏MAP导航 Francis has begun meeting with victims of priest sexual abuse in Chile.

The Director of the Holy See Press Office, Greg Burke, released a statement in Spanish on Friday regarding 杏MAP导航 Francis鈥� meetings with victims of priest sexual abuse in Chile.

Greg Burke says that Friday afternoon 杏MAP导航 Francis began his 鈥減ersonal meetings with the victims of abuse committed in Chile鈥�.

By the 鈥渆xpress desire of the 杏MAP导航鈥�, there will be no official communication regarding these meetings.

The 杏MAP导航鈥檚 priority is 鈥渢o listen to the victims, ask them pardon and to respect the confidentiality鈥� of these meetings.

Greg Burke characterizes the climate the 杏MAP导航 is creating as one of 鈥渢rust and of reparation for suffering鈥�. He then repeats what was communicated in Wednesday鈥檚 statement that 杏MAP导航 Francis will allow each of those invited to take 鈥渁s much time necessary鈥�. Therefore, there are no 鈥渇ixed appointments鈥� or 鈥減re-established topics鈥� to cover.
