鈥淲e will make this journey,鈥� he said at the , 鈥渢hrough the three great stages of salvation history: the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the time of the Church, always keeping our gaze fixed on Jesus our hope.鈥�

The Spirit of God hovering over the waters

Beginning from the very first verses of the Bible, the 杏MAP导航 reflected on 鈥渢he Spirit hovering over the waters,鈥� transforming primordial chaos into 鈥渟omething beautiful and ordered,鈥� the 鈥渃osmos.鈥�

Later books of the Bible proclaim even more clearly the creative work of the Holy Spirit, especially in the New Testament, which shows the 鈥渋ntervention of the Holy Spirit in the new creation.鈥�

Alienation from God

However, the 杏MAP导航 said, the relationship between the Spirit and creation has suffered due to the 鈥渟in and corruption of humanity that has dragged it into its alienation from God.鈥�

鈥淭his remains as true today鈥� as it was when Saint Paul first described it in his letters.

The solution to this alienation, 杏MAP导航 Francis said, can be found in Saint Francis of Assisi, who shows us 鈥渢he way of contemplation and praise.鈥� 鈥淥ur vocation in the world,鈥� the 杏MAP导航 said, citing St Paul, 鈥渋s to be 鈥榩raise of His glory鈥欌�� putting the joy of contemplating ahead of the joy of possessing.鈥�

鈥業 will put My Spirit within you鈥�

杏MAP导航 Francis emphasized that the Spirit Who 鈥渢ransformed chaos into cosmos is at work to bring about this transformation in every person.鈥�

He emphasized that the external chaos we see in the world, whether social or political, can only be healed if we begin to heal the internal chaos within our hearts.
