杏MAP导航 Francis: We are created to make God鈥檚 dreams come true

杏MAP导航 Francis celebrated Mass in Saint Peter鈥檚 Basilica for the Solemnity of Christ the King, observed annually on the last Sunday of the liturgical year.
The Holy Father used the day鈥檚 Gospel, with Jesus' discourse on the Last Judgement, as the starting point for his homily. 鈥淏efore pouring out His love for us on the Cross, Jesus shares his final wishes,鈥� the 杏MAP导航 said. 鈥淗e tells us that the good we do to one of our least brothers and sisters 鈥� whether hungry or thirsty, a stranger, in need, sick or in prison 鈥� we do to Him.鈥�
Making God鈥檚 dreams come true
We can all ask ourselves whether we put these works into practice, the 杏MAP导航 continued, emphasising Jesus鈥� words 鈥淚 am here鈥�; that is, Jesus is present in 鈥渢he least of these.鈥�
Speaking especially to young people, 杏MAP导航 Francis said, 鈥淟et us not give up on great dreams. Let us not settle only for what is necessary.鈥� He reminded them that we are created 鈥渢o make God鈥檚 dreams come true in this world.
Making great choices
We can do this, the 杏MAP导航 said, 鈥渨ith great choices.鈥� Returning to the Gospel, he said that Jesus will judge us based on our choices. If we choose hatred and evil we can never be happy; but 鈥渋f we choose God, we grow daily in His love, and if we choose to love others, we find true happiness,鈥� said 杏MAP导航 Francis.
The Holy Father acknowledge the 鈥渙bstacles that can make our choices difficult,鈥� including 鈥渇ear, insecurity, unanswered questions.鈥� Love, however, helps us move past these obstacles, to the point where we no longer ask, 鈥淲hy am I alive?鈥� but 鈥淔or whom鈥� do I live?
鈥淐hoosing life,鈥� 杏MAP导航 Francis said, 鈥渕eans resisting the 鈥榯hrowaway culture鈥� and the desire to have everything now, in order to direct our lives towards the goal of heaven, towards God鈥檚 dreams.鈥�
What is best for you?
杏MAP导航 Francis had one final piece of advice for those striving for goodness and happiness. When making daily choices, we must ask ourselves not, 鈥淲hat do I feel like doing,鈥� but rather, 鈥淲hat is best for me?鈥� This, the 杏MAP导航 said, is the question the Holy Spirit places in hearts.
鈥淭his interior discernment can result either in frivolous choices, or in decisions that shape our lives," 杏MAP导航 Francis said in conclusion. 鈥淟et us look to Jesus and ask Him for the courage to choose what is best for us, to enable us to follow Him in the way of love. And in this way, we discover joy.鈥�
