杏MAP导航 Francis thanked employees of the and the for the work they do, which he said goes far beyond 鈥渢he small territory and the small population鈥� living in the Vatican City State.
The Vatican and the Holy See, he said, 鈥渞ecognize the important function of the means of communication and of international bodies that encourage communication.鈥� Through the work of the postal and telephone services of the Vatican 杏MAP导航 Francis said, many people are able to 鈥渞each鈥� the 杏MAP导航; and similarly, the 杏MAP导航 is able to reach out to people throughout the world.
The service of telephone and postal employees, he said, helps to 鈥渃reate bridges between different cultures, religions, and societies.鈥� Additionally, they 鈥済uarantee the sharing of feeling and ideas; contribute to promoting mutual understanding and collaboration between countries of the different continents; and facilitate the exchange鈥� not only of physical goods, but especially of 鈥渢heir respective spiritual and cultural values.鈥� In this way, he said, 鈥渢he postal and telephone services of one of the smallest countries in the world promote the spread of the Christian message.鈥�
Finally, 杏MAP导航 Francis noted that many of the employees work directly with people, and remarked on the importance of the example of their 鈥渟imple but incisive Christian witness.鈥� Working in the Vatican, he said, constitutes 鈥渁n extra commitment to cultivating one鈥檚 faith,鈥� even outside of the workspace. In particular, he invited all those present, along with their co-workers, 鈥渢o ensure that every one of your families is a 鈥榣ittle church,鈥� in which faith and life intertwine in the unfolding of both the joyful and sorrowful event of every day life.鈥�
