杏MAP导航 Francis greeted a 70,000-plus crowd of young Italian pilgrims in Rome鈥檚 Circus Maximus on Saturday evening.
The 杏MAP导航 encouraged them 鈥渢o run towards Jesus鈥� and their brothers and sisters 鈥渨ith hearts full of love, faith, and joy.
Run, don鈥檛 walk
He told them a slow pace would not do on life鈥檚 journey of faith, only 鈥渁 quick step and daring leaps鈥�.
杏MAP导航 Francis told the young pilgrims that courage is needed 鈥渢o dream and make present the Kingdom of God, just like Jesus.鈥�
He said Christians are not called to shy away from suffering, defeat, and death. 鈥淕od,鈥� he said, 鈥済ave us the greatest power over all injustices and human weaknesses: Jesus conquered death by giving his life for us.鈥�
Flame of hope in darkness
This power, said 杏MAP导航 Francis, impels us to seek out our brothers and sisters, no matter the darkness in which they find themselves.
鈥淎t the moment when death appears to triumph,鈥� he said, 鈥渋n reality that moment is revealed as death鈥檚 defeat.鈥�
The 杏MAP导航 said the power of Jesus鈥� Resurrection is so contagious that history cannot resist its advance.
鈥淓very place where life is oppressed; where violence, war, and misery reign; and where people are humiliated and trod underfoot: there hope in life can still be rekindled.鈥�
