During his penitential pilgrimage to Canada, 杏MAP导航 Francis reiterated his indignation and shame at the participation of many Christians in the system of residential schools, an instrument of cultural assimilation that caused devastating, and lasting, consequences among Indigenous peoples. At the same time, it was a journey aimed at walking together towards reconciliation and healing.
